Kenzie Mulder, K/1st Grade Teacher
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live. Psalm 63: 1,3
Kenzie Mulder is the K-1 grade teacher at JCA West. Kenzie Mulder graduated from Dordt University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in reading and a coaching endorsement. “Growing up in Christian schools my entire life has developed a passion for Christian Education and the opportunity to impact learners in a Christ-like manner.” She and her husband got married the summer of 2019 and moved to Des Moines from Northwest Iowa. “While the move to Des Moines was new and at times challenging, God has walked alongside my husband and I, providing friends and a wonderful church family.”
She worked at Des Moines Christian School as an associate in a kindergarten classroom. She also served as a substitute teacher at the school. Along with teaching, she coaches JV girls’ basketball and is an assistant varsity volleyball coach at Des Moines Christian. Coaching athletics is another passion of hers along with teaching.
In her free time, her and her husband enjoy attending sporting events, biking, baking, and gardening. She also enjoys spending time with family and watching her sisters’ volleyball games.
“I am more than excited for the opportunity to teach alongside passionate teachers at JCA and positively impacting learners.” I am also confident in the mission of JCA and the school’s desire to nurture students in all aspects of life.”
