JCA West

JCA West opened in 2020. We serve students K-4th Grade in a beautiful historic building in the Drake neighborhood. A new church, Hope + Elim, is also located in this space.

Dean of Students

Allonna Stovall

Born in Kansas and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ms. Stovall graduated from Lincoln High School and attend the University of Northern Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Family Studies and a minor emphasis in vocal music. She and her husband, Damien have seven children. In October of 2015, she gave her initial sermon and became licensed for ministry.

“My calling and passion are to see people of all ages realize that God has an abundant life that He created for them to live if we are willing to trust Him!”

Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Dannette Gano

Ms. Gano has been an early childhood educator for over 25 years with a broad variety of experience as a teacher in public schools, private Christian schools, and also in preschools as a teacher and as an administrator. Her family moved to Iowa after living in Missouri for ten years. Her “behind-the-scenes support team” consists of her husband, daughter, three teenage boys, and the honorary mascot, a Shih Tzu with no tail – Trixie.

4th and 5th Grade

Kendra Heidt

Ms. Heidt received her degree from the University of Michigan. She was employed as an actuary for eight years. She served as a Special Education Associate in the Waukee preschools. God then led her to JCA West as a volunteer and then as a teacher. She and her husband have three children.

“I am thrilled to live out God’s purpose for my life as a teacher at JCA. I am especially excited for children to learn and know that God has a purpose and a plan for their lives.”

Chrissy Johnson

Mrs. Johnson grew up in Iowa as a pastor’s kid and graduated from Evangel University with a degree in Biology.

She and her husband, Tyler have three kids who are currently attending JCA West. After homeschooling for several years, they decided to take a step of faith and enroll at JCA.

God has answered many prayers by providing such a great school family!

I am thrilled to be able to come on staff and excited to help students discover God’s glory and goodness in creation and throughout history.”

2nd and 3rd Grade

Evonne Monroe

Ms. Monroe has always wanted to be part of the JCA family. She has over 25 years of experience working with pre-school to school-age children. She is an active member of the Corinthian Baptist Church serving in Marriage Ministry, Mother’s Board, Choir, and Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
